During 2009-2010, StigmaWatch received 238 reports of stigma. The number of cases reported was 20 per cent lower than in the previous year: an encouraging indication that the work of the SANE Media Centre is having an impact. While the majority of reports to StigmaWatch concerned items in online (31 per cent) and print media (31 per cent), some of the most distressing cases involved television programs (25 per cent).
