Our SANE Speakers program helps to educate people, break down misunderstanding about mental illness, and provide hope.

Speakers talk candidly in public about their personal experiences, contributing their unique voice and authentic perspective to SANE's work with corporate, government and non-government organisations, the media and the broader community.

Speakers are also frequently invited to contribute to advocacy and research, as well as provide feedback on the development of new information resources.

Who can be a SANE Speaker?

Speakers are either:

  • people with their own lived experience of mental illness
  • families, friends and carers, whose lives are affected by mental illness.

How can you become a SANE Speaker?

We recruit for new SANE Speakers to join the program twice a year.
