The impact of trauma on our inner world

Little research has been done into the relationship between Internal Family Systems therapy and complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

This study aims to explore the relationship between concepts of Internal Family Systems therapy and the impact of trauma. It is hoped that this research will offer insight to the mechanisms of this treatment and how it conceptualises the impact of trauma on our inner world.

You are able to take part in this research project if you:

  • Are aged 18+ years old
  • Have experience a traumatic event.
    What is a traumatic event?
    Any event that causes physical, emotional, spiritual or psychological harm. This includes witnessing traumatic events. Examples of traumatic events are natural disaster, serious accident at work or home and physical assault.
  • Are fluent in English.

This study will take approx. 60 minutes to complete.
