Sydney Royal Easter Show’s annual sideshow attraction has once more been branded ‘Psycho Sideshow’. StigmaWatchers expressed deep concern that the term ‘psycho’ has been used in this family environment; explaining that it is an unhelpful reference to mental illness which should not be in common use.

StigmaWatch contacted the show to raise this issue and propose that a more inclusive and appropriate name be considered for next year. Speaking on behalf of the show, Mr Michael Collins stated that while he saw no offence in the name, he would take the feedback into consideration and look at changing the branding.
