Drew Sheldrick’s review of the play ‘The Packer’, titled ‘Stage Schizophrenia’ attracted concern from several readers for misleading representation of schizophrenia. Published in April in both The Inner West Courier and The Northside Couriers, the review dubbed the play ‘Stage Schizophrenia’ as it featured a character with eight personalities.

StigmaWatch contacted Mr Sheldrick to let him know that headlines like this may contribute to misunderstanding  and keep the myth that schizophrenia involves more than one personality alive. StigmaWatch also acknowledged that this headline may not have been chosen by Mr Sheldrick and would not have been intended to cause harm.
