The latest adaptation of the story of Dr. Jekyll & Mr Hyde, titled ‘Jekyll’ was reviewed for The Weekend Australian by Graeme Blundell on 1-2 March 2008. The review, 'Dark Side of the Doc' described the lead character as having a ‘bipolar inner beast’. StigmaWatchers reported that this reference falsely implied that bipolar disorder involves a split personality, and that the illness is linked to homicidal and sociopathic behaviour.

StigmaWatch contacted Mr Blundell to bring the issue to his attention and to pass on some information on bipolar disorder for interest and reference.
