When Medical Observer magazine published an image of a man choking himself with a noose, to advertise for practitioners for a medical hair transplant clinic on 14.12.07, a number of StigmaWatchers wrote in to report the graphic ad. The ad was intended to express a desperate need. Representations of suicide in any form are not acceptable to community standards of health and safety.

StigmaWatch contacted the Medical Observer and the advertiser, who did not list a company name, in order to pass on these views and to raise awareness of the need for caution with reference to suicide.
