Herald Sun online readers contacted StigmaWatch to voice concerns about the use of the term ‘schizophrenic’ to describe the new composition of the Australian senate, in Andrew Bolt's blog, titled ‘Rudd’s schizophrenic senate’. The blog was published on 25.11.07.
The term 'schizophrenic' has long been used out of context in a way that alienates those who struggle with this debilitating illness. StigmaWatch contacted Mr Bolt to raise the issue and encourage leadership in changing the way that this illness is referred to.
