The Gold Coast Bulletin ran a story titled 'Psycho outing: fresh claim' on 1.11.07. The article reported on controversy over day releases for convicted murderer Claude Gabriel, who has been diagnosed with a mental illness. 

While the community and media have the right to debate these issues, the wording of this headline is derogatory to all people living with a psychotic illness.

StigmaWatch contacted The Bulletin to encourage the editor, journalist and the sub-editor responsible for the headline, to take into account the position of all the innocent community members who have to cope with stigma and labels.
