 Readers of The Courier Mail
were concerned at the publication of two news articles on 09.09.09 that described means of suicide. Research suggests that reporting such details can lead to imitation or 'copycat'
suicide attempts by vulnerable people in the community.
SANE Australia wrote to journalist Elizabeth Allen, conveying reader concerns and reminding her of the Australian Governments' guidelines on reporting suicide.
