SANE Australia has written to ABC News Online and The Daily Telegraph regarding articles which specified in detail how a NSW politician attempted to take his own life.
Research suggests that reporting such details can lead to imitation or 'copycat'
suicide attempts by vulnerable people in the community.
SANE Australia wrote to these media outlets, conveying reader concerns and reminding them of the Australian Governments' guidelines on reporting suicide.
