The Bundaberg NewsMail published a news article by APN News that gave details of several methods of self-harm used by schoolgirls.  Readers were particularly distressed by the dramatic front page headline and accompanying colour photograph. The article entitled 'Mutilation by teenage girls rises - knives, needles, lighters used in self-abuse' was written by Kate Wilson and published on 10.08.08.  

SANE Australia wrote to Ms Wilson and Lucy Ardern the Editor of The Bundaberg NewsMail, urging them to ensure that future articles about self-harm or suicide conform to the Australian Government's Guidelines on reporting mental illness and suicide.
