According to Alan Wood, Economics Editor for The Australian, the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) World Economic Outlook is 'schizoid' and 'schizophrenic' because the report is 'conflicted'. Mr Wood made the comments in the story 'IMF avoids recession depression in schizophrenic outlook' on 16.09.06.
SANE Australia wrote to Mr Wood urging him to avoid using 'schizophrenic' or 'schizoid' to denote duality, in accordance with the Australian Government's guidelines on reporting mental illness and suicide.
