SANE Stigmawatch has written to editor of NW Magazine, Amy Sinclair, expressing great concern at the article 'Lindsay's Secret Breakdown' published in the 27.11.06 edition.

The article included graphic images and detailed descriptions of actress Lindsay Lohan's apparent self-harm. Unfortunately, these images were also used on the front cover of the magazine.

Unfortunately, a large proportion of NW's target readership is the group most at risk of self-harm. Research shows that self-harm is about ten times more common than suicide at ages 15-24; and is significantly more common in females than males.
