The Pewsey Vale Vineyard advertised a wine with the heading 'What twisted mind called this Eden Vale?' and the picture of a psychiatric-style strait jacket. The full-page colour advertisement appeared in Donna Hay magazine, issue 24.

SANE Australia wrote to Pewsey Vale Vineyard, as well as the marketing agency that developed the advertisement - KWP! Adelaide - on 22.12.05 urging them to refrain from trivialising and mocking readers who have experienced serious mental health problems, and who may have worn this restraining devise while acutely unwell.

KWP! Adelaide replied on 20.01.06 stating:

"KWP! and Pewsey Vale Vineyard certainly appreciate and are supportive of the good work of SANE in looking after the interests of people with a mental illness. Obviously it's not the intention of the agency or the Vineyard to mock or distress any readers... we do regret any misunderstanding in relation to the advertisement... we will consider your comments when next developing creative for the brand."
