David Stratton, presenter of the ABCTV’s At The Movies program, said he found the film called ‘Yes’ to be schizophrenic on 26.10.05.
A SANE Australia StigmaWatcher wrote to ABC TV on 30.10.05 explaining how the incorrect use of the term 'schizophrenic' can be inappropriate and stigmatising.
Mr Mathew Galvin, Senior Audience Liaison Officer at the ABC replied on 18.11.05. He acknowledged the inappropriateness of the comment, and outlined steps to ensure that no further offence would be caused.
