Reporter Gavin Lower from the Herald Sun gave details of a method of euthanasia, in 'Euthanasia woman free' on 20.12.05.

SANE Australia wrote to Mr Lower on 21.12.05, referring him to the Australian Government's guidelines on reporting suicide and euthanasia. The guidelines advise that media reports should avoid describing the method to reduce the potential for imitation. SANE Australia also urged the Herald Sun to encourage help-seeking behaviour in its readers by including helpline numbers.
