The Sydney Morning Herald gave a graphic description of various methods of attempted suicide and self-harm by Baxter Detention Centre detainees on 11.09.05.

SANE Australia wrote to the Sydney Morning Herald on 23.09.05 urging the avoidance of detailed reporting of methods of self-harm as per the Australian Government's guidelines on reporting suicide.
