Queensland radio station Sea FM aired a 'Gotcha' joke segment involving a fictitious person with schizophrenia on 13.09.05. SANE Australia wrote to Sea FM General Manager Peter Upton on 22.09.05, informing him that a joke involving someone with schizophrenia is unncessary and serves to stigmatise and trivialise people's experiences. Mr Upton replied on 05.10.05 with assurances that the segment won't be aired on Sea FM again. He also wrote: Thanks again for the service you provide, we need organisations such as yours for this very purpose.
