Two balanced, constructive reports by ABC TV's - The 7.30 Report twice covered the former WA Premier Mr Geoff Gallop's retirement due to depression. Shown on 16.01.06 and 17.01.06, the two reports gave an accurate and balanced portrayal of depression, helping to alleviate the stigma surrounding this mental illness.

Both segments also featured spokespeople who were able to articulate the seriousness of depression as a medical condition, but also discussed the very real prospects for recovery.
