SANE SmokeFree Kit

Comprehensive guide to running a quit smoking program for people with a mental illness. It is designed for use by workers in the mental health, drug and alcohol or smoking cessation fields.

An eight-session program developed in consultation with people living with a mental illness, mental health workers and drug and alcohol counsellors, it includes a range of simple and interactive activities incorporating aspects of motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioural therapy.

Kit includes:

• Information on the relationship between smoking and mental illness

• Session-by-session guide to running the program (with handouts)

• Copy of SANE Guide to a Smokefree Life, written for people with a mental illness.
