SANE Campaigns for improved services for, and attitudes towards, people affected by mental illness. As well as ongoing advocacy for improved services, SANE lobbies on specific issues such as the effect of welfare reform and drug strategies on the lives of people with a mental illness.


Mind + Body

SANE Australia’s Mind and Body Initiative recognises that a healthier life includes both mental and physical wellness, and promotes common sense steps to improve health for the whole person. As well as campaigning for improved treatments and support, SANE has developed a range of resources in this area. More>>


Suicide Prevention

People affected by mental illness are at far higher risk of ending their own lives than others. When this does happen, those bereaved may also be at higher risk of taking their own lives. That's why suicide prevention is integral to all of SANE Australia's activities, from development of resources through to staff training, and special projects such as one focusing on helping the bereaved.
