Living with Mental Illness: TV Special |
|
|
|
Australians got a chance to find out what it’s really like to live
with a mental illness in a special edition of Andrew Denton’s ‘Enough
Rope’ program on
ABC 1 TV on 7 April 2008. A Patron of SANE Australia,
Andrew has long had an interest in promoting better understanding of
this issue.
In 2007 he visited the TheMHS (Mental Health Services) Conference in
Melbourne, and interviewed a range of people about the effects of
mental illness on their lives, including poet and SANE Speaker, Sandy
Jeffs. To find and out more and view an excerpt, visit the ‘Enough Rope’ website.
SANE worked with Enough Rope’s production team to promote the
program (titled ‘Angels and Demons’) and SANE Helpline Advisors were
also on hand to answer viewer’s concerns about mental illness on
1800 18 SANE (7263) or via Helpline Online.
